Classified by Material
Glass mug are classified according to the material, there are the following varieties
Sodium calcium
glass cup
The main components are silicon dioxide, sodium oxide, and calcium oxide. It is thick and durable, but has poor resistance to temperature differences and is prone to cracking due to alternating cold and hot temperatures. It is suitable for storing cold or warm water.
Tempered
glass cup
Made of sodium calcium glass through physical tempering process, it has high hardness and strong heat resistance (up to 300 ℃), and the fragments have no sharp edges after crushing.
Borosilicate
glass cup
Containing boron trioxide and silicon dioxide, high temperature resistance (-20 ℃~150 ℃), high borosilicate glass can withstand instantaneous temperature differences above 150 ℃, and fragments are easy to clean.
Crystal
glass cup
Lead or lead-free types, with transparent appearance but significant differences in safety. Lead containing crystal glass may precipitate lead elements when encountering acidic liquids, and lead-free crystal glass has poor low temperature resistance
Classified by structure
Single layer glass cup
The structure is simple and suitable for daily drinking water, but the insulation is weak. such as Small Clear Shot Glass Mug ,Plain Glass Mug
Double layered glass cup
Two layer structure with significant insulation effect, divided into two types: tail (with small droplets at the bottom) and tailless (flat bottom)
Classified by production process
Mechanized glass cup
Industrial production, low cost, commonly found in sodium calcium glass materials. most of glass mug daily use are this kind ,like 1.5oz Square Glass Mug
Artificially blown glass cups
Mostly used for high-end crystal glass or artistic cup shapes, with complex craftsmanship and low yield of finished products .such as most Wine Glass Mug
