The so-called glazing refers to the use of compressed air to spray a certain amount of glaze slurry onto the surface of the body, that is, the glaze suspended in water. The blank body quickly absorbs the moisture in the wet glaze, forming a certain hard surface, and forming a 300-400 micron thick glaze layer on the surface of the fired product. However, many ceramic products shrink the glaze when discharged, that is, the glaze on the surface of the ceramic product is missing in a large area. How to prevent glaze shrinkage during ceramic production?
1. Carefully clean the product before spraying glaze to ensure that the product is smooth and clean;
2. Spray green cloth with water before glazing, which helps to mix residual dirt and soluble salt on the blank surface on the glaze, but if the blank is scrubbed with a water-containing sponge within 2 hours before glazing, there is no need to spray water;
3. Keep the model and floor clean with low-soluble salt clay. BaC03 should be removed after repeated use
4. Avoid oil or lubricating oil on the original blank. When cleaning the blank body before spraying glaze, compressed air may be brought into the oil, so the compressed air should filter out the oil;
5. Avoid touching or scraping the glaze after spraying;
6. The use of micron fine raw materials can reduce the speed of glaze water infiltration into the body. When the glaze on the surface of the body is dry, the drying shrinkage is large and it is easy to crack. The amount of clay added in the glaze shall not exceed 5%.
