Ceramic cup sublimation print image requirements
Ceramic sublimation printing cups (i.e. printing patterns on the surface of ceramic cups through techniques such as thermal transfer printing and inkjet printing) have high requirements for images to ensure that the final product is clear, accurate in color, and durable. The following are common image requirements and precautions:
Suggested resolution: 300 DPI or higher
Low resolution images (such as 72 DPI images downloaded from the internet) can cause blurry printing and noticeable jagged edges.
The actual size of the image should match the size of the printing area on the cup (e.g. cup height of 10cm, pattern width corresponding to cup circumference of approximately 22cm).
CMYK or RGB
Before printing, it is necessary to confirm the color mode supported by the manufacturer (usually CMYK, suitable for the printing color gamut).
The RGB mode needs to be converted to CMYK in advance to avoid color differences (especially note that bright colors may become darker).
Provide Pantone color codes (if there are special color requirements).
Vector files (such as AI, EPS) are the best and can be scaled without loss;
Bitmap files (such as TIFF, PNG, PSD) must ensure high resolution and no compression;
Avoid using JPEG (compression can cause noise).
Pattern proportion: Adjust the image according to the shape of the cup (cylindrical cups need to consider the surrounding effect, and flat images need to be stretched or deformed).
Bleeding area: 3-5mm bleeding edges should be reserved around the design to avoid cutting errors.
Safe distance: Text or key patterns should be at least 5mm away from the edge to prevent being obstructed by the cup mouth/handle.
Avoid extremely fine lines or small text: High temperature transfer printing may cause blurry details.
High contrast: Prioritize using bright colors and avoid similar colors (such as light gray+white).
Background processing: The white ceramic cup can be directly printed with a transparent background; Dark colored cups need to be covered with a white base layer.
Scratch resistant coating: If long-term use is required (such as frequent cleaning), it is necessary to confirm whether a protective film is applied after printing.
High temperature curing: Ensure that the pattern ink is resistant to high temperatures (usually requiring a 180-200 ℃ process).
Copyright compliance: Ensure that the patterns are free from infringement risks (such as commercial logos and portraits requiring authorization).
Physical sampling: For the first cooperation, it is recommended to make samples first to verify color and clarity.
Cleaning tip: Inform users to avoid scratching with hard objects or using strong acid/alkaline cleaning agents.
